CYCLONE SOSE CAUSES VANUATU DEATH

PORT VILA, Vanuatu (April 9, 2001 - Radio Vanuatu/PINA Nius Online)--Tropical Cyclone Sose, which left one confirmed death on Malakula island, is today tracking further south, away from the Vanuatu group.

The Vanuatu Meteorological Service issued its final advisory bulletin as the system moved out of the country and closer to New Caledonia.

The victim was a 60-year-old man believed to have been hit by a coconut while trying to find shelter.

At 11:00 a.m. local time Sose continued to move in a southeast direction at about 10 knots an hour.
