SIGATOKA, Fiji Islands (May 15, 2001 – FijiLive)---Mavoa villagers in the interior of Sigatoka have put up a roadblock and are charging travelers $10 each time they want to pass.

A similar roadblock was set up in December by the villagers who say they have not received compensation by the government for the use of the road through their land and that there is no proper documentation.

The December roadblock was lifted following talks between the landowners, the Native Lands Trust Board and government.

Police are investigating the matter.
