ALOFI, Niue (June 7, 2001 - Niue Economic Review/PINA Nius Online)---In a surprise move a notice for a motion of no confidence in Niue Premier Sani Lakatani and his Cabinet has been withdrawn.

The motion had been filed earlier by Opposition MP Terry Coe.

He told a meeting of the Legislative Assembly that he would file the notice at a later date because it was paramount that the Budget be given priority this week.

Outside the House Mr. Coe said that the country was facing a financial crisis and it was necessary to make budget discussions a priority and arrange for access to financing.
