SUVA, Fiji Islands (July 6, 2001 – Radio Australia)---Fifty-two government ministries and departments had to manually repost their financial data earlier this year, after a computer glitch in the Ministry of Finance.

In February, the ministry lost all records for fiscal year 2000 and had to reconstruct them manually, it revealed Friday.

A ministry spokesperson said it was "a technical error of unprecedented magnitude."

The computer problem now is resolved.
