ALOFI, Niue (August 3, 2001 – Radio Australia)---Premier Sani Lakatani has told the Niue Legislative Assembly that his ruling Niue Peoples Party has delivered on about 90 percent of its promises.

But Mr. Lakatani conceded that there are a number of major social and economic issues still presenting a challenge to the government.

These include Niue still not having a national airline or successfully implementing unemployment benefits.

He told the members of the Legislative Assembly that Niue has been able to achieve prosperity and progress, and its people are better educated than in most other Pacific Islands countries.
