PAPE‘ETE, French Polynesia (September 9, 2001 – Tahitipresse)---The inauguration of Air France’s new French Polynesia office took place Friday September 7, in Pape‘ete, Tahiti.

Air France officials said the move makes clear that the company will keep flying between Pape‘ete and Paris.

Two other French airlines fly weekly from between the two cities -- AOM and Corsair – Pape‘ete to Paris and a third one, Air Tahiti Nui, will probably also fly the route beginning later this year.

Patrick Alexandre, Air France official in charge of international relations, came from France to participate in the office’s opening. He also met, Saturday, with President Gaston Flosse to discuss air link developments.
