SUVA, Fiji Islands (September 26, 2001 – Daily Post/FijiLive)---The Fiji Labour Party yesterday filed its case against the newly appointed Laisenia Qarase led government before the High Court in Lautoka.

This case comes just six days before Parliament opens on October 1 and there is a strong possibility that the FLP will boycott Parliament.

Part Leader Mahendra Chaudhry last night refused to comment on the matter.

The affidavit filed by Mr. Chaudhry challenges the exclusion of the FLP from the new government Cabinet.

The affidavit was filed by Suva Lawyer G.P. Lala on behalf of Mr. Chaudhry and the FLP.

The court action now further delays the appointment of the Leader of Opposition by President Ratu Josefa Iloilo.
