FORMER MILITANT KEKE DENIES LINKS TO GUADALCANAL KILLINGS

HONIARA, Solomon Islands (October 31, 2001 - Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation/PINA Nius Online)---Former Guadalcanal militant leader Harold Keke has denied reports linking him and his men to the deaths of seven men on Guadalcanal several days ago.

In a message delivered through the Peace Monitoring Council in Honiara, Mr. Keke also denied reports that he was preparing to disturb December's general elections. Instead, Keke said he fully supports the general elections, and will ensure they proceed peacefully and successfully on Guadalcanal.
