FRENCH AGENCY FOR DEVELOPMENT EARMARKS € 8 MILLION FOR NEW CALEDONIA

NOUMÉA, New Caledonia (November 12, 2001 - Oceania Flash/SPC)---The French Development Agency (AFD) has earmarked some eight million Euro (€) for the French territory of New Caledonia, the AFD said in a release.

AFD has announced a total allocation of 6.3 billion € for the French territories as a whole.

The aid to New Caledonia will be particularly focused on development of the Loyalty Islands (3.4 million €), the municipality of Nouméa (2.9 million €) and for the suburban town of Dumbéa (2.1 million €).
