PAGO PAGO, American Samoa (December 19, 2001 - Samoa News/PINA Nius Online)---American Samoa Congressman Eni F.H. Faleomavaega has appointed Iuli Alex Godinet as his Chief of Staff, a Washington post that has been vacant for almost five years.

It follows rumors that Faleomavaega's aide Imoasina (Sina) Solomona is no longer employed at the congressman's office due to personal differences.

Faleomavaega is the ranking Democrat on the U.S. House of Representatives International Relations Subcommittee on East Asia and the Pacific. He also is currently the Congressional Delegate to the United Nations General Assembly.

Initial speculation has it that Sina was terminated when a war of words escalated between Faleomavaega and Pago Pago cannery StarKist Samoa, which employs Sina's brother.

"Ms. Solomona no longer works at my Washington, D.C. office," confirmed Faleomavaega in a telephone interview from the nation's capital. "There was a little disagreement in terms of the changes and procedures on how I wanted to operate my office."
