VANUATU WOMEN’S LEADER GRACE MOLISA DEAD

PORT VILA, Vanuatu (January 4, 2002 - PINA Nius Online)---Vanuatu has lost a prominent women’s leader. Grace Molisa died at Port Vila Central Hospital after being admitted yesterday afternoon.

Mrs. Molisa was one of the women who played a major role in the development of Vanuatu.

She was a first Ni-Vanuatu woman to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the South Pacific in Fiji and the first woman political appointee in the Lini governments after independence. She was also the author of the book "Wea Nao Rod."

Mrs. Molisa was also one of the women responsible for the establishment of the National Council of Women.
