SUVA, Fiji Islands (January 24, 2002 – Radio Australia)---The international environmental organization Greenpeace has renewed its warning to Pacific Islands countries that their attempts to establish a Pacific Wale Sanctuary are under threat.

Activists placed a banner across a busy road in the Fiji capital, Suva, to draw attention to what Greenpeace claims are Japan's vote-buying tactics with members of the International Whaling Commission.

The activists also distributed leaflets to the public while wearing large eyeballs on their heads, as a reminder to Japanese officials that the world is watching their activities.
