MORE U.S. FUNDING FOR AMERICAN SAMOA AIRPORT SECURITY

PAGO PAGO, American Samoa (March 22, 2002 – Radio Australia)---The territorial government has been allocated more than (US) $280,000 by the U.S. Department of Transportation to improve security at Pago Pago International Airport.

The assistance is part of a $175 million fund distributed to more than 300 eligible airports across the United States and its territories.

The funding will be used to support additional airport law enforcement personnel and surveillance operations.
