Michael Field, I'm surprised that you chose to use "flying foxes," rather than the infinitely more accurate "fruit bat," in your article about the Chamorro disease.

Also, you write that the disease, which you never mention, is a mental disease. It is not. It is a neurological disease.

Oliver Saks mentions Lytico Bodig in "Island of the Color Blind." Your reference to "Awakenings" is a poor choice that indicates that you conducted little research.

As a Chamorro whose grandmother most likely died of Lytico Bodig, and as a radio host/personality, I found your vocabulary choices suggested that our traditional cuisine includes canine, and that we are crazy for it.

Be careful the next time.
