SAMOAN LANGUAGE UNIVERSITY PLANNED

APIA, Samoa (Nov. 13, 2002 – Radio Australia)---A group planning to open a university that will teach subjects only in Samoan has leased government land for the institution.

Approval has been granted by the Samoa land corporation for the lease of 10 acres at Nu‘u, about 10 miles outside of Apia.

An office for the university is also being opened in Apia.

There are also plans for a kindergarten and a primary school where Samoan will be the language of instruction.
