PALAU POLICE SEIZE $3 MILLION WORTH OF MARIJUANA PLANTS

KOROR, Palau (Palau Horizon/PINA Nius Online) - Palau Police have seized nearly 3,000 mature marijuana plants worth almost US$3 million from 18 plantations in Peleliu.

The haul was one of the largest to date in Palau, officials said.

Five months ago, authorities arrested six persons involved in illegal drugs and seized 600 marijuana plants in two separate operations in Peleliu and Angaur.

Justice Minister Michael Rosenthal said the latest raid was conducted by a team of 14 national government officers, a Peleliu state police officer and a boat operator.
