MISS AMERICAN SAMOA NAMED MISS SOUTH PACIFIC

AVARUA, Cook Islands (Cook Islands Television/PINA Nius Online) - Miss American Samoa, Lupe Aumavae, was crowned Miss South Pacific, capping a week of contest activities on Rarotonga, Cook Islands.

The 22-year-old is Program Co-ordinator/Data Officer with American Samoa's Department of Human and Social Services. She is completing her masters in management and business administration online at the University of Phoenix.

Runner up in the event was Donna Tuara of the Cook Islands. Second runner up was Phyllis Tohi of Tonga.

Other winners include:

- 3rd Runner up: Anita Jamieson (Samoa).

- 4th Runner up - Mahealani Kamau (Hawaiian Islands).

- National Costume - Lupe Aumavae (American Samoa).

- Talent - Anita Jamieson (Samoa).

- Pareu/Sarong/Lava lava - Phyllis Tohi (Tonga).

- Tourism - Lily-anne Homasi (Tuvalu).

- Personality - Lupe Aumavae (American Samoa).

- Photogenic - Phyllis Tohi (Tonga).

- Internet Award - Mahealani Kamau (Hawaiian Islands).
