PALAU OFFERS HAND IN GUAM RECOVERY

KOROR, Palau (Palau Horizon/Marianas Variety, Dec. 31) - Palau will send a team of carpenters to Guam to help the territory repair the extensive damage left by Supertyphoon Pongsona

PalauVice President Sandra Pierantozzi said the carpenters and other workers of the Ministry of Resources and Development are waiting for the "go-signal" from Guam Gov. Carl T.C. Gutierrez.

Pierantozzi said she talked with Gutierrez who told her that they would need the carpenters in the recovery efforts.

The government of Guam is already arranging transportation and lodging for the construction workers as well as preparations for the purchase of building materials, she said.

Pierantozzi said Palau’s government, with the help of the state governors, has also sent 2,100 pounds of fresh reef fish to the victims of Supertyphoon Pongsona.
