WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND (Radio New Zealand, Jan. 13) - A new cyclone, named Amy, has formed about 900 kilometers north of Fiji.

Forecasters say Amy is moving southwest at about 15 kilometers an hour and is expected in the vicinity of Wallis and Futuna this morning and Fiji late this evening with estimated winds of up to 95 kilometers an hour.

Amy is less powerful than Cyclone Zoe which formed in the same area on Christmas Day and later caused heavy damage in Tikopia and Anuta in the Solomon Islands.

Latest reports place Amy about 500 kilometers north of Labasa moving south at about seven knots.
