SOLOMONS POLICE SAY RAPE ON RISE

MELBOURNE, Australia (Radio Australia, Jan. 22) - Solomon Islands police are warning parents and young women to be more cautious about their safety, following a spate of sexual harassment cases in the capital, Honiara.

Police are investigating reports of rape of two girls under the age of 15.

Superintendent Charles Lemoa says both cases happened over the weekend, and says one person has been arrested.

He says statistics show there has been an increase of such cases, compared to last year.
