DENGUE CONTINUES CLIMB IN NEW CALEDONIA

MELBOURNE, Australia (Radio Australia, Feb. 28) - Authorities in New Caledonia have identified 128 new cases of dengue fever since the start of this year.

This represents an increase of 18 since last week although health authorities concede there could be three or four-times as many cases.

They have urged people with symptoms to immediately seek medical help.

Doctors in the French territory have also been reminded they are required to declare all suspicious cases to the authorities.
