AUSTRALIA, PHILIPPINES TO SIGN ANTI-TERROR PACT

MELBOURNE, Australia (Radio Australia, Mar. 3) - The Philippines and Australia are to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on counter-terrorism.

The pact will be signed by Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary, Blas Ople who flies to Australia later this week, and his Australian counterpart Alexander Downer.

Foreign Affairs officials in the Philippines say the deal will cover intelligence information sharing, increased cooperation between law enforcement officials and other initiatives to disrupt terrorists and their financial backers
