HONIARA, Solomon Islands (SIBC, May 5) - Honiara City Council
Secondary and Primary schools will become the first in the country to receive a
comprehensive computer hardware equipment under a Rehabilitation and Restoration

The City Council and the Republic of China or Taiwan will sign a

Council Chairman for Education, Sports and Community Affairs
Henry Star Dora says the City Mayor and the Ambassador to the Republic of China
will sign the MOU.

He says the project will involve the installation of computers
in all Honiara City Council schools.

Known as the Honiara City Council Community High School
Equipment Rehabilitation and Restoration Project, the initial hand over will
involve the supply of 14 desktop computers, 14 color printers, 14 solar UPS's,
one desktop photocopier and one duplicating machine.

The City Council hopes to enhance performance of school
administrations when it distributes the equipment to the schools. The rest of
computer equipment will follow as part of the project at later stages.
