MELBOURNE, Australia (Radio Australia, June 18) - Fiji's Oceania
and South Pacific sprint champion, Makelesi Bulikiobo, will carry the Fiji flag
at the opening ceremony of the South Pacific Games in Suva later this month.

The head of the South Pacific Games Organizing Committee, J.D.
Maharaj, said Fiji's 2001 Sports Woman of the Year was a natural choice.

"We have picked her because we think that she is still the
queen of the the athletic track so we thought we would give her an
opportunity," Maharaj said.

Bulikiobo holds the 100 meter, 200 meter and 400 meter Fiji
national records and she won five gold medals at the 2001 Mini South Pacific
Games in Norfolk Island.
