PALAU TO HOST RENEWABLE ENERGY CONFERENCE

MELBOURNE, Australia (Radio Australia, June 27) - Palau will be
the venue for this year's Pacific Power Association conference, which expects
more than 150 delegates from 24 island-countries to attend.

The conference is scheduled for July 28 to August 1.

Palau Public Utilities Chairman Roman Yano said this year's
theme focuses on renewable energy for sustainability. He said participants will
share information on the latest technology in alternative sources of energy.

He said the conference will greatly benefit Palau, by keeping
the country abreast of the latest technology and systems from administration of
utilities, generators, distribution and management methods.

Yano said some allied members of the Pacific Power Association
will also be attending the conference, along with representative from oil
companies, the United States Department of Interior and the European Union.
