KOROR, Palau (Palau Horizon, Aug. 28) — Palau Air Chief
Executive Officer James Bradfield and Palau Air Chairman Alan Seid say that
Palau Micronesia Air is ready to fly twice-weekly direct flights to Japan, Guam
and the Philippines starting in December.

At a recent Palau Chamber of Commerce meeting, the two airline
officials said the flights are part of their initial plans.

They said they are also planning to increase their flights in
June of next year.

They said New Zealand Air has been contracted to operate the
airline, and a plan has been finalized for leasing aircraft.

In other news, the Palau Chamber of Commerce said it is keeping
track of a foreign investment bill, S.B. 6-88, which was passed by the Senate
and is now with the House of Delegates.

The bill would transfer the responsibilities of the Foreign
Investment Board to the Office of the Registrar of Corporations and the Ministry
of Commerce and Trade.
