TIKOPIA, ANUTA GET FOOD RELIEF IN SOLOMONS

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (RNZI, Dec. 1) - Relief food supplies are on their way to Tikopia and Anuta Islands in the Solomon’s Temotu province.

The two islands have been struck by two cyclones in the past 11 months.

Cyclone Gina devastated food crops in June only months after they had been replanted following the devastation caused by Cyclone Zoe last December.

An Australian navy craft carrying 64 tons of rice left Honiara yesterday afternoon.

It will stop in the regional capital, Lata, to pick up some local food before continuing to Tikopia and Anuta.
