MELBOURNE, Australia (Radio Australia, Dec.7) - Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs Alexander Downer is due in Indonesia on a two-day visit which he says will focus on Australia's successful co-operation with Indonesia to combat terrorism in the region.

In a statement, Mr Downer says the Indonesian National Police and the Australian Federal Police - in a successful joint operation - have captured and brought to justice most of those responsible for the Bali bombings in October last year.

He says while in Indonesia he will attend the general conference of the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific and will also hold bilateral meetings with senior Indonesia leaders.

Mr Downer says he will emphasize that the Australian government does not associate the overwhelming majority of Muslims with extremist Islamic terrorists.
