PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea (The National, Dec. 11) - Selling crabs is a booming business in Port Moresby streets, markets and in front of super markets.

Vincia Karikaru from Gorohu village along the Hiritano Highways has found a place to do his business of selling crabs - that is in front of RH Hyper Mart situated at the Gordons Industrial area.

"RH has helped me sell my crabs," he said, holding up a bundle of bound mud crabs. "The supermarket provides a good service which lures a lot of customers who then buy my crabs to supplement what they bought from the mart."

Karikaru said he used to compete with other crab sellers near other shopping complexes in the city moved to RH because it allows him to operate alone.

He said he is selling crabs from K1.00 (US31 cents) to K8.00 (US$2.50), depending on their size.

"I used to pick up K150 (US$46) a day if they are many customers shopping at RH," he said.
