EIGHT DIE IN FIERCE PNG TRIBAL WARFARE

PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea (The National, Janl 2) – Eight villagers have been killed in a fierce tribal fight raging outside Wabag town in the Enga province.

Police say the fight, in Rakamanda, is between the Lipin and Sundak clans.

Police say houses and food gardens were also destroyed.

Mobile Squad 9 police unit is patrolling the Highlands Highway through the area to ensure traffic flow is not hindered.
