SOLOMON’S ISABEL ISLAND OUT OF FUEL FOR MONTHS

HONIARA, Solomon Islands (SIBC, Jan. 22) – It has been three months since the village people and traveling public in the Gao/Bugotu constituency in Isabel province have received any fuel supplies from Honiara.

According to Sigana PFNet news, all fuel suppliers in the area have no fuel since there was no shipping services to bring fuel.

A village consumer, John Watson Piluka suggests the Isabel Development Company vessel "Isabella" should provide additional shipping services to transport fuel supplies, especially during the high demand period at the end and the beginning of each year.

He commends IDC for the passenger services the company rendered to the people of Isabel, however he wants the company to do similar service to supply fuel.

Meanwhile, the member of parliament for Gao/Bugotu explained that the company and the national government is vigorously working on this matter.
