ROYAL COMMISSION PROBES TONGA AIRLINE

A Royal Commission of Inquiry to probe the operation of the Royal Tongan Airlines was established by the Tongan government in early November, and aims to present a report by December 14.

The two commissioners are the Minister of Police, Hon. Clive Edwards and a Chinese businessman, Fred Wang who is a business partner of Princess Pilolevu Tuita in Pacific Asia Global Holdings, Hong Kong.

The two commissioners are to be assisted by consultants, Wayne Madden, the former General Manager of Tonga Investments Ltd., and ‘Alisi Taumoepeau, the Solicitor General. The secretary of the Commission is Linda Simiki Folaumoetu‘i.

Clive said that the three main areas in the operation of RTA that they will look into are:
