MELBOURNE, Australia (Radio Australia, Feb. 5) - The death toll from bird flu in Asia continues to rise, with two more fatalities in Vietnam and one in Thailand.

Sixteen people have now died from bird flu - 11 in Vietnam and five in Thailand.

The latest victims were a 24-year-old Vietnamese man from the central province of Lam Dong, and a 15-year-old girl from Tay Ninh in the country's south.

The Thai victim was a six year-old boy.

The World Health Organization says no part of Asia should consider itself immune from the avian flu.

It says the virus is spreading faster than expected.

As well as China, Vietnam and Thailand, bird flu outbreaks have also been confirmed in Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, South Korea, Taiwan and Pakistan
