MELBOURNE, Australia (Radio Australia, Mar. 8) - A Solomon Islands woman charged with lesbianism in January has again been remanded in police custody, after appearing in the Solomon Islands magistrates court.

Betty Diau, who has been charged with indecent practice between persons of the same sex, was remanded by the Honiara Magistrates Court to appear again on Monday.

Police had issued a warrant of arrest for Ms Diau in November last year for her failure to appear in court, after having been charged with a same-sex relationship, which is illegal in the country.

She was arrested in January.
