SOLOMONS MALAITA PRIEMEIR TOURS OUTLYING ISLANDS

HONIARA, Solomon Islands (SIBC, Mar. 19) - The Premier of the Solomon Islands’ Malaita Province, Ruben Moli, is currently touring the province’s outer islands.

Over the last few days, the premier and his delegation were on Luaniua and Pelau on Ontong Java.

On his first day on the island, Mr Moli and his delegation held talks with traditional chiefs and elders and held discussions about the provincial government's work and the proposed state government system.

Mr Moli also had the opportunity to hear from the people of Luaniua and Pelau about issues affecting them.

Issues such as global warming and its effects were also discussed and explained to the people of the islands.

The Premier's delegation includes the Provincial Minister for regional Affairs, Joel Rex Funusulia, the provincial Minister for Lands, Provincial Principal administration officer George Waleka, Provincial Assembly member for Luaniua ward, Joel Keise, and Mrs Moli.

Premier Moli's visit to Luaniua and Pelau coincided with the tour of the diocesan Bishop of Malaita, Terry Brown, who is currently leading a chiefs' conference at Pelau.
