SUVA, Fiji (FijiSUN) - National carrier Air Pacific has introduced a new range of airfares to its Australian, New Zealand and South Pacific destinations, offering reductions of more than 30 percent on current fares.

Air Pacific managing director and chief executive officer John Campbell said the new Bula Fares provid good value for money.

He said the fares are available on a permanent basis and provide flexibility and choice. He said fare conditions were developed after a great deal of research with customers.

"Not only do the fares offer great value, they also include full quantity Air Pacific service with free meals, drinks, in-flight entertainment and generous seat room and comfort," he said.

Mr Campbell said all conditions are flexible with no advance purchase requirement and a nil minimum and one-year maximum stay applicable for all fare types.

The fares include service charge and ticketing fees but taxes are additional and vary for each destination.

Four fare types are available with Bula Saver, the lowest priced option with the most conditions, Bula Flexi, a medium-priced option with wider flexibility and Bula Plus and Bula Business fares that are fully flexible, allowing the greatest options for change.

The fares are quoted on a return basis as over 90 percent of Fiji residents purchase return tickets.

Those booking on the cheapest, the Bula Saver, must ensure bookings are ticketed within 72 hours otherwise bookings will be cancelled.

After purchase, the ticket is not refundable and changes are permitted at a service fee of $100 per change.

For the mid price Bula Flexi, conditions are once booked, tickets must be issued within seven days and if not, bookings are cancelled.

After purchase, 50 per cent of the fare is refundable, while the service fee is the same as the Bula Saver. For the maximum flexibility Bula Plus, once booked, tickets must be issued within 14 days or face cancellation but changes are permitted with no service fee applicable. The luxury category Bula Business, the most flexible of all, requires no booking or ticketing time limit. Fares are fully refundable and changes can be made at any time without service fee.

Mr Campbell added that although the fares were available for sale and travel 365 days per annum, the number of seats for each fare would be managed according to forecast and experienced demand.

He said that to obtain the cheapest fare, it was advisable to book early but even for those booking late, good value fares would always be available. The fares are on sale from March 22 for travel commencing from May 01 this year.
