MELBOURNE, Australia (Radio Australia, June 4) - Fiji's main island of Viti Levu is again threatened by rising floodwaters from heavy rain.

Two months ago rainstorms caused major damage and killed 11 people.

Officials have told local radio that 100 people are stranded in the township of Korovou and are seeking higher ground.

Evacuation centers are being prepared.

Early in April, a series of rainstorms caused major damage on the island and hundreds of families remain homeless.
