‘PAGO/APIA PHONE’ CONNECTS TWO SAMOAS

By Fili Sagapolutele

PAGO PAGO, American Samoa, (Samoa News, July 24) - Blue Sky Communications is launching today what it calls the "Pago/Apia phone", a cellular telephone that works both in Pago Pago and in Apia, Samoa.

The project has been in the making for several months, based on the need of local residents that travel back and forth between the two Samoas. The Tutuila-based telecommunication company is proud of their latest offering in updating cellular telephone service in American Samoa.

Blue Sky's chief operating officer, Lewis Wolman said frequent travelers will no longer have to carry two separate phones to make calls in either Samoa or American Samoa.

Blue Sky and Samoa Cellular in Apia, are authorized agents for each other to sell the Pago/Apia phone as well as the prepaid phone cards which will allow customers to make and receive calls by making quick switch on the phone.
