AUSSIE POLICE DEPLOY TO NAURU

MELBOURNE, Australia (Radio Australia, Oct. 29) – Australian police are being deployed to Nauru this weekend to identify and implement reforms in the local police force.

Two Australian officers will take up the positions of director of police and special police advisor.

Nauruan President, Ludwig Scotty, says they will oversee local police and help provide direction.

Mr Scotty says Nauru has been hit by a rise in minor crimes such as shop breakins and stealing.
