AIR PACIFIC RETURNS TO SOLOMONS AFTER 20 YEARS

HONIARA, Solomon Islands (SIBC, Nov. 2) – Fiji airline Air Pacific touched down at Henderson airport in Honiara today, its first flight to the Solomon Islands in more than 20 years.

Airport officials said the 737-800 jet arrived with 26 passengers from Nadi, Fiji, and Port Vila, Vanuatu and left Honiara for the two destinations with 15 passengers and three tons of cargo.

The official said the seats were not fully booked but it is hoped that as the flight is fully established the seats will be fully booked.

Air Pacific is making available 162 seats onboard the plane which makes a weekly flight into Honiara every Tuesday.
