PAPEETE, Tahiti (Tahitipresse, Nov. 3 – A delegation from Tahiti presented "the truth on what’s happening in (French) Polynesia" during a press conference at the French National Assembly in Paris on Tuesday, said Edouard Fritch, Tahiti’s vice president.

The press conference was covered by some 30 news media representatives from national newspapers and radio and television networks, said Fritch, who left Tahiti Sunday night with the delegation.

On Wednesday, the delegation is scheduled to meet with National Assembly deputies and French senators.

They include Jean-Marc Ayrault, head of the French Socialist group in the National Assembly, Eric Raoult, vice president of the UMP party in the French Parliament, Jean-Claude Gaudin, UMP party vice president, Josselin de Rohan, UMP group president in the Senate, and Christian Poncelet, Senate president.

On Thursday, the delegation is scheduled to meet with the French government’s Overseas Minister, Brigitte Girardin.

"It was time that we restored the truth on the political situation in Polynesia," Fritch said. "Everyone is talking about it, everyone is interfering, but I really have the impression that everyone doesn’t control the reality of our country."
