SUVA, Fiji (Radio Fiji News, Jan. 13) - Two Australian women were attacked by three men armed with cane knives outside their home in Suva last night.

Sources say the women who are staff of the Australian High Commission were returning home when they were attacked on their driveway at Ma’afu Street.

Sources say the women received slight injuries and were traumatized by the incident.

Their car was reportedly pushed out of the driveway and it damaged another vehicle.

Inspector Unaisi Vuniwaqa was waiting for a report from the crime officer at Central Police Station when contacted a short while ago.

This is the second such attack on an Australian national in Suva in less than a week.

Last weekend Australia's High Commissioner to Fiji Jennifer Rawson was mugged while out on a morning walk near her residence.

Rawson is recovering from a broken jaw and other facial injuries in a hospital in Sydney.

Australian High Commission public relations officer Dennis Rounds referred all questions on the matter to the police.
