SUVA, Fiji (Fijilive, Mar. 2) - A dispute over chiefly title on the island of Gau turned for the worse when villagers set fire to three houses.

Divisional Crime Officer Southern Kesari Lal says a village dispute over a chiefly title ignited after homebrew was consumed by some of the Malawai villagers.

He says the dispute led to fire being set to three houses in the village.

Lal says the villagers were quick enough to put out the fire.

Lal says police have yet to travel to the island due to bad weather conditions.
