SUVA. Fiji (Fiji Times, May 1) – A FJ$7 million (US$4.2 million) business complex is taking shape on the corner of Cumming Street and Waimanu Road in Suva, being developed by Parshotam and Company.

Lord Mayor Ratu Peni Volavola commended the company for its investment into the three-storey building which will house restaurants, boutique, law firm, health and other legal help desks.

"The unique design of the plaza will be an inspiration to others interested in building projects," he said.

The company plans to have a 90-square-metre library on the third floor of the complex that is to be completed in 12 months.

Ratu Peni was chief guest at the groundbreaking ceremony for the plaza which will be in the shape of a hexagon. A large open space will provide comfort for shoppers.

There will be an underground parking area and 22 cars will be accommodated in the parking lot while the building will be handicap-friendly.

Satish Parshotam said that eight months of hard work was finally taking shape.

He said his family always intended to develop the area at Cumming Street.

"The development of Mid City Plaza will encourage others to develop their properties," said the Lord Mayor.

Tenants of the previous building before it was demolished have indicated they will return after the plaza is completed.
