PAPEETE, Tahiti (Tahitipresse, July 8) – The French Polynesia government has expressed "its solidarity with the British people" in a communiqué sent to the British government after a series of terrorist bombings in London last week.

"Polynesia is shocked and declares its solidarity with the British people," said the communiqué, sent by French Polynesia President Oscar Temaru.

"These new acts of violence require security measures to be enhanced, in airports particularly, and the government advises Polynesians travelling abroad to be cautious", the communiqué added.

"French Polynesia, on such painful occasion, reaffirms it is part of the free world and condemns the abominable cowardice of such blind attacks."
