SUVA, Fiji (Fijilive, Oct. 1) – Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase will lead what is believed to be the largest entourage from Fiji when he tours India in a historic visit next week.

Up to 50 delegates, including three Government Ministers, will be making the trip.

"A lot of interest has been shown by the business people who will be paying their own airfares," he said.

The five day visit, beginning on October 9, will be Qarase’s first to the Indian sub-continent.

The highlight of the trip is the meeting of the two prime ministers and representatives of Government, including visits to cities and projects of significance to Fiji.

Qarase will also open Fiji’s first High Commission in New Delhi and expects to seal bilateral trade with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding at the end of the trip.

The private sector will be on one to one consultations, eying possibilities for trade and investment.

Tavola acknowledges that Fiji has much to benefit from one of the fastest growing economies in the world particularly in Education, Health, Agriculture and Information Technology.
