HONIARA, Solomon Islands (SIBC, Dec. 24) – A second Australian mining company has signed an agreement to prospect for Gold on the weather coast and parts of Central Guadalcanal.

The agreement has been signed by Australian Resource Management Company and an executive of the Koloula Resource Owners Association.

Chairman of the Association Heinz Unga says both parties had signed the prospecting agreement on the 13th of October this year.

Mr Unga says the agreement covers some issues which both parties have identified as important.

These included compensations, ownership disputes and allowances for clearance among others.

Mr Unga says a geologist of the Australian Resource Management Company has visited the site early this month this month for initial assessments.

He says there are some minor issues among some of the landowners but these are being addressed by the company and his executive.
