STORM DEVELOPING SOUTH OF SAMOA

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Radio New Zealand International, Feb. 9) – Forecasters in Fiji are monitoring a tropical depression south of the Samoan archipelago and north of Niue.

The regional weather centre in Nadi says the depression is expected to strengthen over the next 48 hours, and the potential for the storm to become a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours is moderate.
