PAGO PAGO, American Samoa (Samoa News, March 30) - Two men and a woman were arrested yesterday in connection with two separate drug busts in Pava'ia'i and Happy Valley (Tafuna) earlier yesterday.

Police seized methamphetamine ("ice") and marijuana, and weapons and ammunitions in various types from the home in Happy Valley, where a man and a female were arrested.

At the drug bust in Pava'ia'i, police seized weapons and drug paraphernalia from the home where a man was arrested. No drugs were found there.

The drug busts were made possible via search warrants issued by the court.

Asked if officers of the police's Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Bureau (CIIB) encountered any difficulties during the drug busts, CIIB head Va'a Sunia said that aside from "a little resistance" encountered by officers at the Happy Valley bust, "everything went smoothly."

Sunia declined to comment on the amount of "ice" and marijuana found at the home in Happy Valley.
