CHINA TRADE DELEGATION VISITS PAPUA NEW GUINEA

PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea (PNG Post-Courier, April 30) – A delegation from the CCPIT Liaoning Sub-Council of the Peoples’ Republic of China will arrive on Sunday for a five-day visit in Papua New Guinea.

They will stay until May 4. CCPIT is the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The visit is an exploratory mission for trade and investment opportunities between CCPIT Liaoning and Papua New Guinea. It is also a return visit to an investment road show to China, organized by the Investment Promotion Authority in November last year, by business representatives from Papua New Guinea.

The CCPIT group comprises senior officials representing organizations and business entities from CCPIT Liaoning Sub-Council, Liaoyang branch and Yingkou branch among others.

The purpose of the visit to Papua New Guinea is to explore possible investment partners and trade opportunities in various sectors and industries including wood, garment and textile, aquaculture and foreign trade, economic and technological co-operation. The delegation will hold a meeting at the Marea Suite of Crowne Plaza Hotel in Port Moresby on Monday starting at 10 o’clock in the morning.
